Meals and Snacks
- Since food and nutrition are important components of a child’s development, Fun Flower child daycare emphasizes fresh and natural foods such as fresh fruits and vegetables, homemade soups, whole grain breads, etc. The provider will provide a well-balanced breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack. Weekly menus will be provided on monthly basis.
- Parents will supply all formula and baby food for infants until the child is 12 months old or can safely eat the regularly scheduled meals. If a child has a particular dietary need, substantiated by a medical evaluation, we must be informed and given a doctor’s note. Substitute meals or snacks may be brought from home.
- Snack and lunchtime, like other scheduled activities, are exceptionally good learning times. Children can learn to serve themselves, to eat with a group, and to try new foods. They will learn to use utensils and napkins as their skills develop. They will also learn by watching others, which is one reason why it is valuable for teachers to sit with children during meals. By keeping health and safety as a primary concern, children learn to understand and respect each other’s food allergies, as well as family preferences and beliefs about foods.
- Children use gatherings, such as snack and lunch times as social times. Pleasant conversations at the table create a comfortable atmosphere for children to feel a part of a group. Children can also feel useful and proud of being able to help with mealtimes by setting up the table, sponging the table after eating, and throwing out their own trash.
- Children are offered food from each food group and encouraged to try new things, however, if they do not want to eat something they are not required to do so.
Breakfast Policy
A healthy breakfast is served promptly at 8:20 AM daily. Parents must drop off children before 8:30 in order to eat breakfast. Children who arrive after 8:30 AM should have been served breakfast at home.
Lunch Policy
A healthy lunch is served between 12:15 PM to 12:30 PM daily.
Snacks
Healthy snacks are served three times a day. The first snack is served at 10:30 AM, then at 3:30 PM, and a final serving at 4:00PM.

Daily Activities
At Fun Flower daycare, we encourage children to use their imagination and have fun while learning. We work with basics such as shapes, colors, opposites, numbers and letters. We also read books and watch kid’s shows. We teach children to play ball, slide, ride the bicycle and play with balls.

We also love creating artwork, its one of our favorite daily activities. Our projects include drawing with crayons, markers, chalk and colored pencils; painting; rubber-stamping; collage and sticker art; molding with clay and play dough and lots more.
